Definition
Using ELT Media in teaching and learning process is a good way of method. Media can be a function to communication between students and teacher, because it makes student to stimulate their mind. Using ELT Media in teaching and learning process more interested, so they are more active in classroom.

The characteristic of ELT Media
1. Keeping the central of the attention
2. Following the instruction
3. Training the ability of the students analysis from which they hear and see
4. Catching the meaning of the context
5. Remembering the idea or part of the idea which they hear and see

Purpose
Use of media intended to make students more interested when the learning process, so they are active in classroom. Beside that, using media in teaching and learning process is creative and make students enjoy in class.

Kinds of ELT Media
1. Graphic Media
Example: diagram, cartoon, comic, etc.

2. Visual Media
Example: magazine, photo, book, etc.

3. Audio Media
Example: tape, recorder, cassette, etc.

4. Games Media
Example: scramble


Advantages:
• It makes student more interested
• students more active in the class
• students more easily understand
• it more creative and more variation
• it makes student happy in learning process

Disadvantages:
• high cost if using sophisticated media
• sometimes student or teacher who don’t understand to use media
• if there is extinguishing of electricity, so teaching and learning can’t use the media
